VeriConneX has just lodged a submission to the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) Reliability Panel's issues paper for the Template for Compliance Programs.
The current template was designed during a time when the generation mix looked very different. The Panel's issues paper recognises we're now connecting integrated resource systems (batteries), synchronous condensers, and registered loads—all requiring assessment frameworks that reflect these new plant types.
Our submission responds to the issues paper with practical insights on how the template can better accommodate today's technologies.
As the developer of COMET, Australia's leading GPS compliance management platform, with more than 3 GW of generation and storage assets under management across two dozen generators, we bring evidence-based insights from real-world implementation of compliance programmes across diverse technologies.
Submissions to the issues paper closed on 22 January 2026, but there is more time to provide your input. The AEMC will publish a draft report in April.
Watch this space... This is a critical issue for us to get right as the energy system transitions.
